"Sound To Sea" Locally Created Candles, Diffusers & Bath Products
Julie Arthur's inspiration for her brand "Sound To Sea" comes from the down east fishing town Stacy where she grew up. "You can stand on top of a sand dune and see both the Atlantic Ocean and Core Sound, which is how I got the name Sound to Sea." Julie and her husband Casey live in Beaufort with their furry animals...he is a well known "Decoy Carver" and Firechief in Atlantic Beach!
Julie also can be found in Cedar Point at the outdoor market on Saturdays!

Paintings, Sculptures, Jewelry
Paintings by Stephen Moore
Stephen is primarily a plein air and studio painter working in mainly acrylics. He began painting in 1980 while still working in his career in family medicine. After retiring to the coast and the mountains with his wife and artist Susan, he strives to paint daily..and no subject matter is left out...boats, pelicans, beach party gatherings and local sites such as Cape Lookout just to name a few. His realistic style expands the wide spectrum of colors and textures. Folks recognize his work once they step in the gallery in the front of our shop!
Sculptures by Clark Humphries
Clark is a self-taught metal sculptor, combining copper with driftwood to create "one of a kind" pieces in subjects ranging from sea turtles, wind blown trees, and little angelic "praising women". He is also an avid gardener, growing loofa sponges from which he takes art to another level, creating loofa "exfoliating" soaps and more recently a loofa lamp...which is quite a conversation piece. He gives credit to his talents to his mother Jose and aunt Flora Ann Passino who were both well known watercolor artists in this area.
Paintings by Deanna Grant
Deanna , originally from Lewisville, NC, hAS been painting for several years, Inspired by nature, she captures a subject's true essence with her ability to paint the light, color, and shapes of what she sees. Her "sought after style" varies from impressionistic to very realistic in primarily coastal scenes.
Quilted Wall Hangings By Naida Koraly

She finds every day to be a new and wondrous adventure, filled with diverse and interesting people, starting each day exclaiming “ah….life!” This statement has become her tagline, and is stitched in lower case cursive, hidden somewhere in each of her fabric art creations as a reminder of the joy each day of life can bring. She's also received recent recognition in several local art shows for her unique pieces.
Photography by Wells Edmundson
Wells has an innate ability to capture what is called a "decisive moment" in his photography...you have to be in the right place at the right time...his works include tranquil coastal sunsets, snow scenes, & beautiful scenes from nature. Recently retired as a physician in the Raleigh area, Wells is now enjoying being in the Atlantic Beach area where he continues to capture beautiful images!
Paintings by Doug Key
A "lifelong" artist and musician, Doug paints in oils and acrylics depending on the subject matter...a classical painting style can be seen in several works that are influenced by his many travels to France...and again, he paints with amazing realism of jockeys on horses, colorful coastal scenes, and windsurfers, which is a hobby of his.
Paintings by Jean Sonberg

Colleen Knight
FIber Art
Colleen's whimsical felted creations are little gems with glass eyes and colorful coordinating “hand felted” wool... instantly taking you back to your childhood imagination, often lost as we grow old and gray! Each one has a special story that’s easily recognizable…the little mouse with the fishing rod and tiny bucket of beer..the garden mouse with his carrot & berry..the mouse with the cookie and of course the fairies & mermaids!
Colleen has also created beautiful long range landscape views in her framed pieces and felted purses of which we have a few selections as well!
ANY of these would make a unique gift for mom!
Colleen’s felted creations began in May 2020 in the midst of the Covid atmosphere, while caring for her mother who was just diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, and her father who had Alzheimer’s. Tag teaming with her sister, they shared caregiving 3-4 weeks at a time. Needing a creative outlet, she purchased a felt kit and started making little bunnies and gnomes wherein she realized that not only did these little creations bring her solace, they seemed to bring a little joy to everyone who saw them. She was quickly addicted to the craft ! Colleen shows in various craft markets and now in our shop! Colleen has lived in Washington, NC since 2015 with her husband Vann.
